From the coolish Muschelkalk Clos Pflostig in Riquewihr, the 2013 Pinot Noir "Grossi Laüe" offers a clear and aromatic, very elegant and slightly toasty bouquet of cherries and coolish, refreshing stony notes. Aged in pièces for six to eight months, this is a pure, tart, fresh and silky-textured yet grippy, still somewhat astringent Pinot in the Rhenish style, so with straight and stimulating acidity. The wine has character but tastes a bit harsh, perhaps, if poured straight from the bottle. Aeration is thus highly recommended. 13% stated alcohol. Diam cork.
