The 2020 Meerspinne Gimmeldingen Riesling Grosse Lage offers a deep, pure, intense, complex, very refined and stimulating iodine-scented nose of ripe fruits intertwined with notes of crushed stones. Silky, playful and round on the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense and almost voluptuous but elegant Meerspinne with precision, definition and grip and a pure, saline and crystalline finish. Although still young, we can start to enjoy this rich but also finessed Riesling that reveals lingering and stimulating salinity. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. A touch of funk (reduction) at first, but it quickly blows off to reveal aromas of dripping leaves and flowers after a storm. A very elegant wine that has a serious structure beneath the graceful surface. Only just beginning to open up! From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification.
