Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2020 Corton Les Grandes Lolières Grand Cru, Felettig
Riper liqueur-like aromas include those of cassis, dark cherry, roasted plum and whiffs of earth and the sauvage. The supple and extraordinarily rich big-bodied flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract while buffering the firm tannic spine shaping the chewy, serious and austere finale where noticeable warmth slowly appears. This is one of those wines that is hard to rating because there is much to admire but the warmth isn't subtle. Some will undoubtedly admire it for its size, weight and power and some will criticize it for being rather atypical. - Allen Meadows, Jan. 22
