Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2018 Vosne-Romanée, Felettig

A spicier if slightly less floral-suffused nose freely offers up a ripe array of primarily red berry fruit scents. There is terrific vibrancy to the middle weight flavors that possess excellent cut while exhibiting an acidulated cherry candy-inflected finish that flirts with sweetness. Vinous - 2018 Vosne-Romanée, Felettig

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village is matured with 20% whole bunch. The 50% new oak is better integrated that I would have expected, allowing red berry fruit mixed with pressed iris and incense to flourish. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, good acidity, a dash of white pepper and a cohesive and quite persistent finish. This has good potential. - Neal Martin, Jan. 2020
