Allen Meadows' Burghound: The fresh essence of crushed red berries, especially cherry, is trimmed in soft spice and wood wisps. The racy, intense and delicious middle weight flavors also possess good cut though not the same phenolic maturity as the supporting tannins are grippy and while not quite dry, the finish is raspy and a bit short. We'll see if this recovers but for now, it's not at the same level as the best in the range. - Allen Meadows, Jan. 2020
Vinous: The 2018 Beaune Champs Pimont 1er Cru is a new fermage for Felettig, courtesy of a 0.5-hectare parcel that was picked after the Chambolle-Musigny Village, and matured in 50% new oak. This comes across a little overpowering on the nose, although it does become more refined with aeration. Precocious blueberry, boysenberry and fig notes blossom in the glass. The palate is well balanced with fine definition and, being completely de-stemmed, has a silky sheen and very pure fruit. Blood orange and light peppery notes with a long tail on the finish. Promising. - Neal Martin, Jan. 2020
