Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 2018 Ayl Kupp Riesling GG is fresh, bright and flinty on the very ripe yet pure, citrus-scented and well-concentrated nose. On the palate, this is a rich, intense, enormously salty-vital and vibrantly fresh Ayer Kupp whose finish is powerful and dense, revealing ripe, dense and lush fruit. But there is also a lot of tension, structure and raciness. Keep this 2018 for at least five years. Bottled in April, tasted in June 2019. Release date: September 2019. - Stephan Reinhardt, Aug. 2019

Mosel Fine Wines: The 2018er Kupp GG, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from clean fruit harvested at 95-96° Oechsle on the original hill of the vineyard. It offers a superb nose of pear, white f lowers, pepper, tar, smoke, and almond cream. The wine proves delicately juicy and elegant and leaves a beautifully long and refined feel in the well-delineated finish. 2022-2033

Vinous: This bottling reflects a newly acquired one-acre parcel of largely middle-aged vines. “We weren’t planning to bottle a Grosses Gewächs in our first harvest from these vines,” noted Dorothee Zilliken, “but the grapes were just too good not to.” A classic nose for this site features cherry, apple and lime backed by wet stone. There is a high-toned suggestion of kirsch and mirabelle distillates, but the degree of volatility present here merely serves for further aromatic penetration without becoming at all unruly. The feel is polished and the finish animatingly tangy, buoyant and brightly refreshing, with nips of cress and cherry pit heightening the invigoration. - David Schildknecht, Juli 2020
