Allen Meadows' Burghound - 1979 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru, Vincent Dauvissat
The color is less golden than would be expected at almost 40 years of age. The nose is consistent with the color because while notes of sous-bois are present, there is still pretty good freshness as well as evident Chablis character. I like the intensity and minerality displayed by the driving middle weight flavors that terminate in a bone dry and delicious if perhaps slightly lean finale thanks to the prominent acidity.
