Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2020 Echezeaux Grand Cru, Eugenie

Here the nose is riper still with its array of black cherry liqueur, kirsch, cassis and spice nuances that are also trimmed in enough wood to notice. There is fine volume and mid-palate density to the velvety and punch medium weight plus flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the dusty, moderately austere and sneaky long finish. At least some patience suggested as this will need at least a decade to resolve what are presently firm tannins. - Allen Meadows, Jan. 2022
