Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The deep white-golden colored 2017 Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg Riesling Trocken GG offers an intense and concentrated yet also subtly flinty bouquet with crystalline aromas. The palate is round and elegant yet dry and mineral, with a good freshness and some bitters on the finish. This is a pretty powerful, intense and slightly creamy-textured Ruwer Riesling that needs some years to develop more finesse and elegance. The finish, however, is vital and long. Tasted in June 2019. - Stephan Reinhardt, Aug. 2019

92 / 100

Wine Spectator: Vibrant, pure-tasting and precise, with piercing acidity connecting the spicy and concentrated flavors of peach and dried apricot that feature notes of grapefruit. The fruity and creamy finish displays flinty accents. Best from 2021 through 2027. 400 cases made. - Web Only 2019

92 / 100

Mosel Fine Wines: The 2017er Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg GG w as made f rom f ruit harvested at approx. 90° Oechsle. The w ine develops a rather undeveloped nose of melon, herbs, peach and spices. The feel on the palate is still on the rough side but the precision and intensity of the f inish are simply remarkable. Everything is in place for a beautiful dry Riesling at maturity. 2022-2037 - Okt. 2018

91 / 100

Vinous: Fresh lime and apple are tinged with chervil and cress for a penetrating nose and an invigoratingly nippy palate impression. There is a nice sense of buoyancy (the wine harbors 12% alcohol) and admirable energy, as well as transparency to smoky, stony and incisive, pungently green herbal finishing nuances. This really sticks to the gums but without sacrificing refreshment, and a lick of salt activates the salivary glands. - David Schildknecht, Apr. 2020
