The 2022er Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar. Still comparatively reductive
and unexpressive at first, it only gradually develops a very herbal and fresh nose of smoke, anise, rosemary, pink grapefruit, mint, cassis leaf, and flint. The wine is superbly well balanced on the palate, as a mix of fresh orchard fruits, herbal, and spicy elements give a lot of liveliness to the wine. The finish is beautifully long and focused. This is a great Spätlese. 2032-2062. - Juni 2023
