The 2019 Gimmeldinger Biengarten Spätburgunder Erste Lage displays a deep, pure and intense, almost generous and finely toasty bouquet of dark cherries and berries. On the palate, this is a voluminous and concentrated but refined, silky textured, fresh and pure, saline and tensioned Pinot with remarkably fine and juicy tannins. A superbly tight and refreshing Pinot from a cooler terroir. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2022. - Stephan Reinhardt, Dez. 2022

This is a compact wine with plenty of power and concentration, but the bitter-chocolate note in the nose is quite intense, and you’ll either go for that or not. And after a silky front and middle palate, it turns slightly dry right at the end. From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drinkable now, but maybe better from 2023.
