Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Hohen-Sülzen Riesling is pure, fresh and concentrated on the refreshing lemon-scented and chalky nose. Pretty intense and attractive. Juicy, round and powerful but fresh and refined on the palate, this a mouthful of Riesling with fine tannins and a long and powerful finish. Tasted at the domaine in March 2020. - Stephan Reinhardt, Mai 2020
Vinous
Lime zest, crushed stone, peat moss and smoky notes, reinforced by cask, combine for an impressively pungent aromatic display from what is effectively the second wine to Spanier’s Kirchenstück Grosses Gewächs. On a polished palate, we get treated to more moss, toasted pumpkin seeds and a suffusion of mineral salts that triggers the salivary glands. This intriguing and irresistible stuff boasts a refreshingly sustained finish transparent to all of its head-scratching nuances. - David Schildknecht, Nov. 2020
