Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2017 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Spätlese (AP #4) is coolish, pure and stony on the crunchy and concentrated nose. Lush, sweet and round on the palate, with piquant, racy acidity and pervasive minerality, this is a complex and intense, lush and concentrated Spätlese with lingering salinity and a long, precise finish. A fabulous and promising Spätlese. Tasted in June 2019. - Stephan Reinhardt. Aug. 2019
Vinous
As so often with Müller Braune Kupp bottlings, there is a purple plum note to the fruit, along with dark mineral shadings suggestive of peat as well as wet stone, and these aspects are already present on a penetrating and intriguing nose. Quinine, plum pit, cinnamon stick and mint accents on the glossy, buoyant palate lend both stimulating piquancy and a cooling trigeminal impression. The penetratingly, prodigiously persistent finish introduces bright citricity as well as mouthwatering salinity on top of the mineral fascination and the herbs and spices that were already on exhibit. - David Schildknecht, Okt. 2019
Mosel Fine Wines
The 2017er Wiltinger braune Kupp develops a beautifully creamy nose of melon, pear, apricot blossom, bergamot and smoke slate. The ripe and richer side comes through on the palate, where apricot blossom and tangerine mingle with delicately creamy pear, melon and vineyard peach. The finish is fully fruity and a great touch of smoky slate and minerals comes through in the mouthwatering after-taste. This is beautifully made in a comparatively direct and easy style. 2027-2047 - Juni 2018
