Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The auction-destined Schaefer 2011 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Auslese A.P. #15 features overripe Persian melon and apple jelly mingled with salted caramel and white raisin. Enormously rich and flatteringly creamy, it’s rather static for now, lacking the interplay, vivacity, or sheer sap that made the best wines in the present collection so memorable. One senses in a wine like this how the botrytis of 2011 didn’t typically concentrate the grapes’ acids. That noted, this is still a wonderfully mouth-filling and alluring wine with a long, soothing, almost confectionary finish. - David Schildknecht, Apr. 2013
