Predominantly from a cooler plot of the cru ("Sommerseite") complemented with the super ripe plots that see the Rhine and fermented until June this year, the golden-yellow 2021 Riesling Pettenthal GG offers a clear, aromatic, tropical, lemony and flinty bouquet that is as pure as it is deep and complex and is also highly stimulating in all its natural beauty. Dense, lush, mouthfilling and round but neither overly rich nor sweet, this is a generous and wide, highly elegant and refined Pettenthal with a long, saline and structured finish. This is a great wine and surely one of the finest from the red slope in 2021. 12.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022. - Stephan Reinhardt, Dez. 2022
