The 2021er Berncasteler Doctor Spätlese 385 Jahre Jubiläumswein (the back label refers to “Jubilée Edition”) is a special cask to mark the 385th anniversary of the foundation of the Estate and carries a special Art Nouveau label (the same as the one used to celebrate the 375th anniversary 10 years ago and 380th anniversary 5 years ago). It offers a
quite breathtaking nose of tangerine, candied pink grapefruit, orange zest, fine spices, almond cream, coconut, rosemary, and anise. The wine is superbly playful on the palate where a more exotic side comes through and adds complexity to the whole experience. The wine is still on the sweet and aromatic side, yet the finish already shows great grip and presence as zesty and minty elements join the party.
