The 2019er Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett was harvested at approx. 88° Oechsle and was fermented down to fully fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. It proves comparatively rich on the nose as scents of yellow peach, apricot, and almond cream emerge from the glass. With airing, it reveals a fresher side driven by candied grapefruit, minty herbs, and smoky elements The wine develops great presence with the creaminess of a Spätlese on the currently still rather sweet palate yet proves already beautifully focused and animating in the long and intense finish. This fruitystyled bottling of Doctor will need, as Doctor wines so often do, some patience for it to reveal its underlying finesse and elegance. 2027-2039 - Nov 2020
