Tasted from a small 375-milliliter bottle, the 2018 Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg Riesling Auslese Nr. 72 offers a pure, fresh and crunchy-mineral bouquet with lemon aromas and notes of crushed rocks and stone dust that give an almost "dry" sensation. The palate is elegant and well-balanced, revealing remarkable finesse yet not the dimensions of the Abtsberg. There is not much depth here but lots of charm and finesse—no need to age this one that long. It's a very elegant and refined style with discreet sweetness. 7.5% alcohol.
