Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Zilliken's 2017 Saarburg Rausch Riesling "GG" has a clear, concentrated, very elegant and refreshingly mineral bouquet with crunchy slate aromas. Round and intense, with very fine tannins and lingering mineral structure, this is an impressive dry Rausch that has a lovely creamy texture from the lees. The finish is long and structured. Tasted as a samples in March 2018, shortly before bottling (which is scheduled for April). The "Alte Reben" was not produced in 2017 since the quality of the grapes was too good and the quantity too small for downgrading. - Stephan Reinhardt, Apr. 2018
Vinous
A fascinating nose incorporates hints of tomato foliage and anise with pear, apple and pistachio. The inner-mouth impression is unexpectedly creamy in feel yet quite brightly juicy. The lingering finish displays an admirable measure of levity for a Grosses Gewächs, while richly and stimulatingly reprising the fruits, nuts and herbs anticipated on the nose, underlain by wet stone. Zilliken emphasized the scrupulousness with which the fruit for this bottling was selected, and that seems to be reflected in the degree to which it stands out qualitatively vis-à-vis others in the present collection. - David Schildknecht, Okt. 2019
