Der 2017er Pinot Noix Ardoise steht dem Volnay Champans qualitativ in nichts nach und auch hier fand ich es sehr schwierig, mich festzulegen, wer hier wer ist. Dieser deutsche Spätburgunder muss sich hinter keinem noch so renommierten Premier Cru aus dem Burgund verstecken. Erstaunlich, wie schnell Daniel Twardowski den Pinot Noir-Gipfel erklommen hat. Feinste Blaubeernoten, Rosenblätter, Veilchen, Himbeeren und Gewürze. Pikante, angenehm spürbare Säure, die auf den Schieferboden hindeutet. Hochelegant und fein. Die Frucht kommt präzise und facettenreich am Gaumen an und sorgt dort für ein seidig-samtiges Verwöhn-Gefühl. Klasse und Rasse. Hut ab!

The 2017er Pinot Noix Ardoise, as it is written on the consumer label, was made with 30% of stems. This medium-light cherry-red colored wine offers an absolutely marvelous and captivating nose of peony, rose petal, raspberry, warm earth, cinnamon, a hint of cassis, and fine spices. The wine proves gorgeously smooth and multi-layered on the refined and almost airy palate with perfectly integrated, silky, and subtle tannic structure. The wine oozes complexity right into the light-footed and hugely persistent finish. This has all the classy elements of a fine Burgundy with an added zesty presence in the aftertaste. This gorgeous Pinot Noir is easily the finest we have ever tasted from the Mosel! 2022-2037. - Aug. 2020
