Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2014 Maximin Grünhauser Spätburgunder offers a clear, fresh and elegant bouquet of fully ripe cherries along with toasty aromas. Perfectly ripe and silky on the palate, this is a very fine and elegant, intense but finesse-full Pinot Noir with delicate acidity, fine and silky tannins and toasty flavors in finish. Based on French Pinot clones planted on blue slate in the core of the Abtsberg vineyard in 2007, this is a very elegant and harmonious German Spätburgunder whose lightness and finesse are clearly Ruwer style. - Stephan Reinhardt, Apr. 2017
