One of the great vintages for this estate is the 1950 Cheval Blanc, one of the most concentrated, intensely flavored wines of the postwar era here. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of mulberries, vine smoke, orange confit, espresso roast and gravelly soil, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with a deep and multidimensional core of fruit framed by rich, sweet tannins, concluding with a long, savory finish.
