Allen Meadows' Burghound: A moderate dollop of wood stops just short of masking the overtly ripe mix of white and yellow orchard fruit, petrol and white flower scents. There is excellent richness and mid-palate concentration to the full-bodied and very generously proportioned flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the seductively textured and well-balanced finale. While not really an elegant wine this is relatively fine compared to what I typically see at this early stage.

92+? / 100

Vinous: (these vines are between 70 and 80 years of age): Bright lemon-yellow. Very ripe but subdued aromas of lemon drop, lavender and crushed herbs. Densely packed and powerful, displaying a lovely sugar/acid balance and penetrating minerality. Barnier blocked part of the malolactic fermentation here. Great spine for long aging. (this got a bit of blocked ML). This salty, extract-rich, almost tannic wine has the spine for long aging. From deep soil. - Stephen Tanzer, Sep. 2015
