As it often does, there is a suggestion of the exotic present on the aromas of orange peel, passion fruit, jasmine tea and a hint of citrus confit. The caressing, concentrated and solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors exude evident minerality on the chiseled, chalky and superbly long and well-balanced finale. The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet les Folatières En la Richards 1er Cru has a stern and relatively austere bouquet that demands coaxing from the glass, though I think there is more here than the Champ Canet, for example. It's just tightly coiled. The palate is well-balanced with a strong opening: lime and hints of tangerine, fine acidity.
