Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Champ Canet, Etienne Sauzet

A slightly riper nose is composed of apple, pear compote, white peach, just sliced lemon and a plethora of floral elements. There is fine volume and borderline painful intensity to the beautifully textured and caressing yet seriously energetic larger-bodied flavors that flash impressive power on the bone-dry and strikingly long finish. The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru felt much more closed when I tasted it at the Domaine, introverted with dewy meadow scents. The palate is well-balanced, but it doesn't quite convey the mineralité and tension of its fellow Premier Crus at the moment. Does it have more to give?
