The 2022 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Jardin du Calvaire suffered in the dry conditions, and it was matured in a recently acquired foudre from Tonnellerie Rousseau; taken together, that lends the wine a more exotic profile than usual, with aromas redolent of musky peach, mandarin oil and honeycomb, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and expansive palate with a sweet core of fruit. - William Kelley, Jan. 2024

A cooler and slightly more elegant nose reflects more citrus character but not quite the same complexity. The racy, delicious and more evidently mineral-driven flavors conclude in a slightly drier and youthfully austere finale. The 2022 Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc Jardin du Calvert aged 85% in 22-hectoliter foudres , the rest 600-liter barrels. The perfumed bouquet has more to offer than the Bourgogne Blanc at this stage.
