Subtle but not invisible wood frames the cool and exceptionally pretty aromas of the essence of pear, elegant floral nuances and an equally broad range of spice wisps. The bigger-bodied and more powerful, though curiously less concentrated, flavors are once again almost painfully intense and this intensity carries over to the tautly muscular, balanced and hugely long finale. Vinous - 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, Etienne Sauzet

The 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has much more expressive mineralité on the nose compared to the Bienvenue. Vivacious, citrus-driven aromas gain intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a slightly oily-textured entry, plenty of extract here, very weighty and quite persistent towards the finish that just needs to subsume some of the oak.
