Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru Les Brûlées, Château-Fuissé

Moderate but not dominant wood and vanilla influences fight somewhat with the very ripe and vaguely exotic aromas of pear liqueur, citrus confit and white peach. The very rich, caressing and sappy medium-bodied flavors are a combination of opulence and power while retaining reasonably good balance thanks to the citrus-tinged acidity supporting the solidly persistent finish. While there is a trace of warmth, it's not really enough to materially detract from the overall impression of harmony. As it usually is, this is a full-on, even robust and powerful, PF that could be approached young though I would be inclined to hold it for a few years so that the wood treatment can better integrate. - Allen Meadows, Okt. 2022
