Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
From a 26-year-old vineyard on top of an old quarry at 280 meters in altitude and aged for a year in 600-liter oak and for another six months in stainless steel, the 2020 Weisser Burgunder Hoher Fels opens with a pure, precise, fresh and rocky limestone bouquet with iodine and refreshing citrus aromas. Beautifully reductive! Round and lush on the palate, this is a generous but pure, refined, enormously persistent and salty Pinot Blanc with great terroir expression. The finish is very long, complex and super stimulating. This could easily be held for a Puligny-Montrachet. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022. - Stephan Reinhardt, Juni 2022
