This is the first wine to exhibit any appreciable reduction. More interesting are the caressing, refined and nicely rich medium weight flavors that exude a subtle and refreshing salinity on the dusty and slightly chewy finish. Vinous - 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Combottes, Felettig

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru includes no whole bunch and is matured entirely in new oak. I have to admit that the 100% new wood dominates the nose and speaks more of the cooperage than the vineyard. The palate is ripe and a little chewy on the entry, the fruit just about able to support the oak, although I cannot help thinking that 50% or 60% new oak would have suited it better. - Neal Martin, Jan. 2020
