The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru includes no whole-bunch fruit this year and is matured in 100% new oak. It seems to handle the new wood well, offering scents of black cherries, boysenberry and a touch of pain d’épices. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and black fruit and a fine bead of acidity. Quite vibrant, especially toward the finish. The long aftertaste is very satisfying. Superb.
