Allen Meadows' Burghound - 2017 Meursault, Thierry et Pascale Matrot

Pungent aromas feature notes of gun flint, citrus and hazelnut. The delicious, detailed and attractively vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess an appealing texture before concluding in a clean and dry finish that offers a bit more depth if not quite the same refinement. - Allen Meadows, Jun. 2019

Vinous - 2017 Meursault, Thierry et Pascale Matrot

(no new oak; half of these vines were picked "before the big rain" and half after, said Elsa Matrot): Pale yellow with a green tinge. A bit riper but less floral on the nose than the Saint-Romain, displaying smoky scents of yellow stone fruits. In a fatter style, offering hints of very ripe fruits as well as clove and smoke notes. With its slight finishing edge of acidity, this village wine still needs time to harmonize. - Stephen Tanzer, Sep. 2018
