Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 2017 Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett, Maximin Grünhaus

The 2017 Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett is discreet and flinty on the subtle, elegant and remarkably fine nose. The palate is sweet and round, with good grip and lush texture. The finish is compact, stimulatingly salty, pretty round and lush for a Kabinett. The wine is beautifully light-bodied (7.5% alcohol), and the sweetness is pretty well-reduced by the refreshing mineral tension. Tasted from AP 12 18 in June 2019. - Stephan Reinhardt, Aug. 2019

Mosel Fine Wines - 2017 Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett, Maximin Grünhaus

The 2017er Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Kabinett was made from fruit harvested at refreshingly modest, Kabinett conform sugar levels (Oechsle degrees in the low 80s). It develops a beautiful nose of cassis, peach and herbs. The wine displays great finesse and elegance on the palate and leaves a beautifully vibrant feel in the long and intense finish. This is a gorgeous wine in the making! 2022-2037 - Juni 2018

Vinous - 2017 Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett, Maximin Grünhaus

Fresh apple, white peach and lime tinged with cress and oregano on the nose anticipate the generously juicy, animatingly tart-edged and invigoratingly green-herb-tinged impression that emerges on a polished, buoyant palate. More than 50 grams of residual sugar are present (at just 7.5% alcohol), yet the resulting sweetness supports succulent white peach without excess and avoids any negative sense of sweet-sour tension on an exuberant finish transparent to smoky and stony as well as herbal nuances. - David Schildknecht, Apr. 2020
