Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 2017 Riesling Alte Reben Saar is a dry Riesling with a clear, bright, concentrated bouquet of crunchy slate and toasted yellow paprika that reflects the coolish terroir of Molitor's plot in the Saarburger Rausch (and Bockstein), even in a warm vintage such as 2017. Lush and intense but lithe, refined and highly elegant on the palate, this is a salty-piquant, well-concentrated and fruity Saar Riesling with a long, well-structured, very energetic and lingering salty-crunchy finish. Impressive! Tasted in March 2019. - Stephan Reinhardt, Jun. 2019
Mosel Fine Wines: The 2017er Saar Alte Reben (White Capsule) offers a beautifully pure nose of grapefruit sorbet, coconut, pear, minty herbs and floral elements. The wine is on the smooth side on the palate and leaves an almost fruity feel in the racy and focused finish. This proves rather primary but could develop positively if it gains in finesse and focus at maturity. 2027-2037. - Okt. 2018
Vinous: Based on a portion of Molitor’s recently expanded holdings in the Ockfener Bockstein, this leads with a lovely nose of fresh apple, cherry and orange alluringly accompanied by their blossoms. Hints of wet stone serve as a background throughout. The feel is creamy and the fruit lusciously juicy, but there is welcome, invigorating counterpoint on the stone-lined, mouthwateringly salt-tinged finish thanks to piquant apple seed, zesty orange peel and incisive pepper-cress. - David Schildknecht, Jan. 2020
