Vinous
Seedy huckleberry, seed-tinged apple and chalky suffusion combine for a performance of pithy, piquant concentration. The texture is firm and the overall impression formidable, but even with a finishing rush of apple and lemon juiciness, somewhat austere. I miss the textural allure and salinity of this wine’s Kirchspiel counterpart, or what I termed the “unusual animation and transparency” exhibited by its vintage 2016 predecessor. Possibly I tasted it at an awkward moment; even so, I would be inclined to wait before popping more than the first cork. - David Schildknecht, Jul. 2019

This cask sample of 2017er Dalsheimer Hubacker GG (tasted back in March 2018) offers a gorgeous nose of cedar, citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, flowers, pineapple, coconut and smoke. The wine develops great presence on the palate with good density, a touch of power but without any undue weight. The finish proves intense and zesty. The after-taste is full of spices and enhanced by a delicate and animat ing touch of tartness. This potentially an admirable Hubacker has great potential. 2027-2047 (Reprint from Mosel Fine Wines Issue No 42 – August 2018). - Okt. 2018
