Allen Meadows' Burghound: This is less evidently reduced but between the prominent wood and the reduction, not much else is in evidence on the nose at present. On the plus side there is outstanding density to the super-rich middle weight plus flavors that are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that confers a sappy texture to the stony and beautifully persistent finish. This is a high quality effort but the wood treatment is not subtle so be aware that this is stylistically particular. - Allen Meadows, Jun. 2018
Vinous: Light yellow. Deep, fresh, slightly reduced aromas and flavors of ripe apricot, peach and spicy, nutty oak. Concentrated, tactile wine with good intensity and inner-mouth energy, but the oak seems less well integrated than in the younger 2017 version, currently blurring the wine's fruit and minerality. The finish shows a hint of bitterness that will need time to be absorbed. - Stephen Tanzer, Sep. 2018
