From the oldest vines (120+ years), the 2015 Riesling Zeltlinger Sonnenuhr Auslese *** (White Capsule) opens with a very pure yet rich and intense bouquet of luxuriously ripe and intense fruits. Rich and opulent on the palate, still with a yeasty texture but great elegance and endless salinity, this is a powerful and intense Riesling with fine yet vital acidity, a very good mineral grip and a long finish. This offers a most elegant nose of candied grapefruit peel, peach, melon and dried herbs. The wine is beautifully well balanced on the palate with a hint of alcoholic power coming through in the finish. The feel in the after-taste remains airy and hugely persistent.
