Vinous: (the Lécheneauts' vines are located in the hamlet of Chevrey; just 10% new oak): Bright, dark red with ruby highlights. A touch of earthy reduction to the aromas of medicinal black cherry and violet. Slightly tart blackberry and cranberry flavors nonetheless deliver attractive sweetness. Fruity, firm and persistent. Two thousand fifteen was a successful vintage for this spot due to the sunny September and good acid retention, said Vincent Lécheneaut, who noted that these vines were picked on September 15, after the rains. - Stephen Tanzer, Jan. 2017
