Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: There are only 150 bottles of the 2013 Volnay 1er Cru les Caillerets, since Louis Boillot pulled up half of the vines, notwithstanding hail and flowering. It has an initially light but pleasant, floral bouquet with rose-petal-tinged red fruit that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine and quite supple tannins. There is a fine bead of acidity and satisfactory dark broody black fruit on the finish. This"'blink and you’ll miss it" Volnay is delicious. - Neil Martin, Dez. 2014
Allen Meadows' Burghound: A ripe but restrained nose of black cherry, plum and an array of spice notes introduces the supple and very round medium weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality onto the ever-so-slightly drying finish. I like the concentration and in this case the dryness is so slight that it probably would not be visible with the proper dish. - Allen Meadows, Jan. 2015
Vinous: (only 150 bottles produced; 11.8% potential alcohol, chaptalized to 12.3%): Medium red. Ripe but withdrawn nose hints at black and red cherry, with aromas of dark berries, blood orange, licorice and spices emerging with aeration. Densely packed, pure and youthfully imploded; freakishly concentrated and almost too powerful for its own good. This will probably be splendid a decade hence. - Stephen Tanzer, Jan. 2015
