Allen Meadows' Burghound - 1969 Musigny Grand Cru, Leroy S.A.
Bricked through. A kaleidoscopically broad and wonderfully elegant nose is composed of tea, spice, hoison, soy, clove, dried flowers and plenty of sous-bois. The superb depth continues on the gorgeously textured and intensely mineral-driven flavors that remain impeccably well-balanced on the caressing and lilting finale. This is no longer a powerful wine, indeed there are elements of delicacy to it, but it is a study in Zen-like harmony. I would be inclined to be drinking this stunningly good effort up over the next decade as it's not hard to discern a certain fragility. - Allen Meadows, Apr. 2016
